I too fell for the scam. I don't usually tend to fall for any type of scam but read the article and thought if I lost out on the few bucks I paid for the free trials than no big deal! Boy was I wrong!!
I ordered the trial for the Dazzle White and Clean Whites. A few days later I received call from CSR stating they can send me a package for the 30 day supply which will cost $49.95. I was not interested in any means but the CSR explained that once this was received I could call in and have this cancelled and be refunded the amount, never stating to return the product. Why would he, he knew it wasn't going to make the sell. I also received a charge of $79.95 on my account and was livid!!
I called them to sit on hold for 30 minutes, once I spoke with a CSR I was constantly told "sorry" and that they could not help me. I REFUSED to accept this so demanded to talk to the supervisor in charge who will help me get my refund. Never got threw to the supervisor (because one was never there, these calls are taken over seas...As well as the charges) after another 20 minutes of kindly arguing with the CSR because as well as I know this is a job for them, so I tried really hard and explained that I was upset and apologized for taking it out on her but wasn't going to hang up, wasn't going to wait for a call back, I wanted the refund now!! After she realized I wasn't going anywhere she explained to me that the $49.95 was a deal I received and usually cost more but if I were to return I could get a refund, but I wanted to whole refund of the two charges!! So after back and forth conversation she said she would refund me after I mailed in the product, which for one the CSR who called me in the first place never mentioned that I had to return this product. Of course not, why would he?! But I had to pay for the shipping and handling, she tried to send me two labels for each box but I REFUSED to pay for two separate S&H after all that I have already gone through, I was going to have to swallow the cost on it, period! My loss and a lesson learned.
I received a email with the return label and a email of the cancellation explaining to keep whatever product I had left and they hope to see me return ( yeah right). Well I called them again because why was I returning this product when the email said to keep it. They said because it's a general email and to not follow it, but to send the product back. I questioned them, why did I never receive the free trial, I did but was unaware that the free trial was for 5 days and if you didn't call to cancel within 5 days that's where you get the second charge.
I also questioned them on the first conversation with them that why did I received several little charges from the same company and as over and over we went on it they could not explain it. Until I called my bank. After reading all the reviews here, I realized that it wasn't just myself and that I didn't want to have to deal with anymore charges. So I called to close my debit account so no more charges could be added on. The bank rep seemed to understand that this company was really good at keeping the fine print hidden for as long as they needed to. So they closed my account and explained that the little charges of (3).5, (2).3,(2) 1.95, (2).99 charges are because of the overseas cost to use the credit card.
If any of you will be disputing the charges, my bank rep told me to return all products and to keep ANY confirmation numbers or any sort of numbers you receive for the dispute.
I will be sending my package out tomorrow and hopefully will receive the refund. If not my bank told me to call back so we can process the dispute.
