To any homeowner considering a remodel:
Have you been considering a remodel for years, but you don't know where to start? Do you want a bigger house, but are afraid to go through the hassle of a remodel? Are you afraid of being taken to the cleaners by a contractor? I have an answer to all of your problems. MEGA BUILDERS.
My wife and I had been considering a remodel for years, and after finally deciding to start the project we hired an architect. Dealing with the architect and with the city (plan approval) took much longer than anticipate*. We had very little time to select a contractor and get our house completed by the end of summer (our original goal). After speaking with several contractors, we were concerned that we would not be able to afford the changes we wanted to make (beware of architect's estimates*). Then we met with Alon Toker from Mega Builders.
A friend of a friend referred us to Mega Builders. The reference raved about Mega Builders and offered to show us their work. We toured the home and were impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the positive comments the homeowner had about Mega Builders. They met both the homeowners' budget and schedule.
Based on our friend's reference, the face that Mega Builders bid was VERY competitive and the fact that they could start immediately, we hired Mega Builders. Mega Builders gave us a 12-week estimate to complete our project.
The demolition crew showed up at precisely 8:00 am on May 20th (the day they said they would start), and we were able to move back into our home 13 weeks after completion. The only reason they took one extra week was due to delays in getting routine inspections (the city was understaffed for all of the construction taking place during our project). All change orders were handled fairly, although there were very few changes. Alon helped us clarify any discrepancies on our plans prior to signing the final contract. This helped us avoid making very many changes during the project.
We can't say enough about the construction crew who built our house. The foreman was very professional, and took great pride in his work and the work of his crew. He would always get our input when there were questions about the plans, and helped us with some of the many decisions we had to make during the project. Our home turned out better than we expected. Our neighbors all rave about how good it looks.
We would definitely use Mega Builders again, and would recommend them to anyone (including friends and family).

*If we did another remodel project, we would use Mega Builders to do the design portion. Our architect did not do a very good job of designing a remodel that would fit our budget, and was not very timely.
