It's truly unfortunate that people run businesses such as Legal Modification Firm and The Law Office of Christopher Persaud. Like too many others, my wife and I were taken for $2500 with zero results and over 8 months of the runaround. What I'm confused about is that it says right on the BBB website that it "Effective October, 2009 in California, it is illegal to collect any fees, regardless of the form, for negotiating or attempting to negotiate a loan modification for a residential mortgage." How can that be? Persaud's office is in California yet he continues to steal from people. Our check was received by Persaud and cashed in October 2009 and all we have to show for it is being in foreclosure. Like others though, we will not go down without a fight in order for Persaud to be held accountable. Persaud and whatever company he keeps changing the name to are scam artists. If you send him any money up front you will certainly regret it. For those of you whom have been scammed, get a real lawyer and go after Persaud. It's what my wife and I are in the process of doing. Along with suing him and filing formal complaints with the BBB and the State Bar of California, we plan on doing our part to make sure this guy is disbarred.
