Review 4/9/2010
|
Forty Two complaints in the last 36 months. And those are just the people who take the time to look up the BBB! And how many people go to the BBB website when they've had a good experience? No one, that's who! It IS suspicious that 3 good reviews all came in on the same day. And every time there's a bad review a new good review rolls in. All I can say is if you're researching this company before buying, RUN SCREAMING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! Our experience with Furniture Blue has not been pleasant. We ordered a leather reclining sofa on February 9, 2010. It was delivered on March 23, 2010. The sofa had apparently been dropped somewhere along the line because the whole frame was skewed. The right side of the reclining sofa looked like a separate part. It was leaning and wobbly and you could see daylight through the back! Furniture Blue said they would make sure we were 100% satisfied and then we never heard from them again. We emailed, we sent messages on their website, we left messages on their 800 number. No one ever seemed to be there to answer the phone and they never returned our calls. After 17 days we filed a complaint with our credit card company. Discover Card has reversed the full cost of the sofa while they investigate our complaint. At least Furniture Blue doesn't have any of our money AT THE MOMENT. We sent photos in to our credit card company so they're able to clearly see the damage in the photos. It should be a slam dunk. But now what do we do with this damaged sofa in our family room? We haven't had anything to sit on for weeks now and don't know if we should buy from someone else or wait to see what the resolution is with our credit card company and Furniture Blue. It's really hard for a family of 4 to share one recliner to watch TV! I only give one star because I have no choice. They don't deserve a star at all. They deserve 5 frowny faces.
4/20/10 Update David Haut, General Manager called and left a message on my answering machine today. I called back only to receive his voice mail. This is the first response we've had from them in 18 days. I had to cancel my Discover credit card account, so that may be why they're calling. They can't recharge my account. 4/30/10 Update: David Haut agreed to reorder my sofa if I sent him my leather swatch. I mailed it and now I've been waiting for someone from Furniture Blue to let me know whether they received it or not. They apparently responded to the BBB that they had ordered a new sofa on 4/28/10 but they never contacted me. The BBB has closed our case, but I still don't know if or when we will receive a replacement.
UPDATE: THE RE-ORDERED SOFA ARRIVED ON 6/9/2010. IT WAS DAMAGED AS WELL. WE AGAIN PUT DOWN A 50% DEPOSIT TO, AS DAVID HAUT PUT IT, "SHOW GOOD FAITH." WHAT A MISTAKE. WE REFUSED THE SECOND SOFA BECAUSE IT WAS DAMAGED AND HE AGAIN WILL NOT RETURN ANY PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS FOR A REFUND REQUESTS. THIS COMPANY IS UNETHICAL IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. I HOPE YOU'RE READING THIS before YOU PLACE AN ORDER WITH THEM AND NOT AFTERWARDS. ZERO STAR RATING FOR THIS COMPANY.
