My trip to the Galapagos and Chile
|
My husband and I just returned from a three-week vacation in the Galapagos and Chile. This is the second trip I have taken that was organized by Eureka Travel. Last year we spent a month in Argentina. This year as last year, everything went perfectly smoothly. Eureka Travel is run by two sisters: Analia and Cecilia. They are Argentineans and have traveled South America extensively. They know what works and what doesn't. Our trips have been smooth, without a hitch. I have worked with Analia. She makes everything happen. I tell her what experiences I want, where I want to go, how much I want to spend and how much time I want to give the trip.
The Galapagos and southern Chile (Patagonia) is so interesting. Of course, we saw huge turtles and actually swam with a sea lion who swam all around us just playing, in the Galapagos. The hotels and the guides are wonderful. We usually travel one day, go on an excursion another day and goof off one day. Then on to another site. We visited, as I said, the Galapagos, Torres del Paine National Park, took a four day cruise on a freighter through the Chilean fiords and visited national parks in the area. We hike (to a volcano and to a 3,000 year old alerce tree), we rest, we eat, we learn, we read, we enjoy, we talk to people. I can recommend Eureka Travel without reservation and will certainly travel with them again. After all, South America is a big continent.
