Abandoned job. Failed to stand behind work. Deliberately rude.
Bell Plumbing North replaced a sewer lateral on 5-April-2010 under City of Berkeley Permit 10-1093. They abandoned the project just prior to the last step. City records show it was rough inspected but never final inspected. On 1-May-2011 the lateral was found to be defective in a professional inspection. To purchase our home I was required to put up a $4000 bond to ensure sewer lateral completion. I called Bell plumbing in November 2011, but was hung up on by Jim in customer service. After I wrote a letter in December 2012 Jim and Ryan D at Bell Plumbing agreed to obtain a sewer lateral certificate on our behalf. They said they had a trick that would not require digging up or fixing the line. They visited our house a half dozen times,? ?twice with video cameras. At each visit or phone call I would ask status and they would generally promise action by that Friday. As of March 2012 I no longer received status updates. Every week or so I would call Bell, but they became unresponsive. When I finally reached Jim, he hung up on me as soon as I identified myself.
