'The most incompetent escrow company ever' according to my broker and agent!

I am on my iPad and thus cannot give this outfit a 0 rating that it deserves. Keeping this short and sweet, we just bought a house and this escrow company was the listing agent's choice. Standard 30-day escrow, but missed the first close date because the listing agent did not submit the necessary paperwork (one of many incompetent moves that delayed the close)... We missed the escrow close date and as a result, missed our lender rate lock which cost approximately $1500.
So we had to extend the escrow close date another 10-days and also had to extend our rate lock, which costs an additional $900. We missed the 2nd close date as well because: escrow claimed they never received FHA docs from my broker (even though my broker had email proof that docs were submitted to escrow TWICE!). They blamed the broker for never emailing the paperwork. FALSE!!
To move forward, my agent and broker suggested to pitch in with escrow to cover the $900 for the rate extension. Escrow agreed to pitch in, but at the end, the escrow closing statement showed that they did not pitch in as promised. Their portion was taken out of our escrow refund or 'pad'. We had to pay their share for their fault in missing paperwork, and for their cause in our rate extension. My broker called them for an explanation, but no answer. My agent called as well, and got hung up on!
DO NOT do business with this incompetent escrow company, it was later discovered that the listing agent's brokerage had a financial involvement with Barringer Escrow, when it should be that the escrow company is a 3rd party and should not be a conflict of interest. Lastly, the staff is rude, notorious for not responding to calls and emails and incompetent with escrow statements (numerous incorrect numbers and information). Overall, big thumbs down and a F in my book.
WATCH your back with this place!!! I didn't submit a formal complaint because their share of the $900 was not worth the trouble. The principle is that YOU SHOULD keep your word and do your job and most importantly, DO NOT BE shady, answer your calls, don't hang up on your clients!
