Review 2/5/2010
|
In Sept I stopped by the office of Attorney Home Protecton Service in Lake Forest and talked to Jim McHenry. He convinced me that a loan mod was possible and the wait was around 3 months. Against my better judgement, I entered into a contract with AHPS on sept 21, 2009. I paid 2995.00. (Two weeks later they made it illegal to collect up front fees for loan mods.) In the beginning, all was fine. Teresa was handling my case. She called weekly advising me that no progress had been made and that I should be patient. The last time I heard from Teresa was Nov 20th. Since then, I have had no contact with AHPS. I started calling them at the end of Jan. I usually got a recording so left my name and number but no return calls. I finally got hold of Don on Feb 1st who informed me that Teresa no longer worked for AHPS. Don said an agent would call me back. There was no return call so called Don again on Feb 5th and asked him to have Jim McHenry call me back. That is where I am at this point in time. I will update the review as I go.
Part two
On Feb 5th I got a call from Ed Bello who said he was handling my mod. He requested the same documents that I sent to teresa in September. I faxed those documents to Ed Bello on Feb 11. 2010. On March 26th I received a letter from Indy Mac requesting the info that I faxed to Ed Bello. They advised me that if they didn't get the documents they would have to drop my request for a modification. WTF! I called Ed Bello and he said he would call Indy Mac and get right back with me. It is Arpil 12th and I'm still waiting to hear from Ed Bello. I'm beginning to think this company is a shame. Be careful. I will update the outcome
