ARM Solutions / Hollywood Video debt collection
|
ARM is acting on behalf of First Term Lenders Liquidating Trust (they bought out Hollywood Video). Check out the following link:
http://www.cleveland.com/consumeraffairs/index.ssf/2011/05/hollywood_video_agrees_to_end.html.
ARM cannot legally report any supposed debt concerning Hollywood Video to a credit bureau. They can only attempt to collect it. Don't waste your time trying to talk with them. Just send letter of dispute within 30 days like the letter says. Failure to send a dispute letter will be contrued by ARM as a validation of the debt and may be legally binding.
It would also be a good idea to file a report with your attorney general office. Be sure to include a copy of the letter you received from ARM and your reply along with your complaint.
ARM may or may not be in violation of any law... Whatever the case turns out to be - as long as you send a dispute letter - they are not permitted to take any action that would affect your credit.
